Brenda Deere is a Master's level Psychologist (LPA),
and a Certified Subsconcious Restructuring Counselor/Coach,
and is currently practicing in Raleigh, North Carolina.
In 1975, Brenda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. For the next several years, she was a "stay-at-home-mom," practicing psychology on her friends, her daughters and her husband. When her daughters went off to college, Brenda decided to pursue her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina Central University in December of 1998. She subsequently took the National Psychology Exam (the EPPP), passing it at the Doctoral level, which is a higher level than that required for Licensed Psychological Associates. She is a currently a licensed Psychological Associate (i.e., Master’s level psychologist) and Certified Health Services Provider in the state of NC, and is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the North Carolina Association of Professional Psychologists. She is proud to have recently obtained certification as a Subconcious Restructuring Coach/Counselor and feels that this proven, results-oriented Coaching/Counseling system will greatly enhance the options that will be available to clients.
Many of the clients who seek out Brenda’s help are average people just trying to cope with the daily stresses and struggles of life. She is particularly interested in working with women as they struggle with issues of weight loss, depression, stress, body-image problems, self-esteem issues, and mid-life/menopause transitions. She also enjoys helping women who have recently moved to the Triangle area due to job transitions or other reasons, as they deal with the stresses associated with such a move.
When you feel like you can't do it alone...
When you feel trapped, like there's nowhere to turn...
When you worry all the time and never seem to find the answers...
When the way you feel affects your sleep, your eating habits, your job...
When it's just not getting any better...
Sometimes you need to talk with someone...someone who can help.
An experienced, trained therapist or Life Coach can be that person. As to the selection of the particular therapist, this is a highly personal matter. A professional who works very well with one individual may not be a good choice for another person. Call and request the opportunity, either by phone or in person, to ask the therapist some questions. You might want to inquire about his or her licensure and level of training and approach to psychotherapy and Life Coaching. Most importantly, though, is whether you feel comfortable with the therapist as a person. Such a discussion should help you sort through your options and choose someone with whom you believe you might interact well.
